Mission
The Children's Museum of Southern Oregon's mission is to encourage all children
to learn and grow through play!
History
Originally founded in 2002 as "Kid Time," the museum served as a beloved community staple for two decades. In July 2022, the organization rebranded as The Children’s Museum of Southern Oregon and moved into the historic Carnegie Library building. This transition expanded the museum's footprint and mission, integrating the Ivy School preschool and a broader range of Reggio-inspired educational programming under the Oregon Center for Creative Learning.
Building & Campus
The Museum is housed in the landmark Carnegie Library building, a beautiful example of historic preservation that earned the museum the Pioneer Award from the Downtown Medford Association.-
Indoor Space: Features a range of interactive "zones," including The Makery, the STEAM Forest, and the Farm-to-Table exhibit.
-
Outdoor Adventure: A 1-acre natural play space featuring a creek, tricycle track, and hillside amphitheater.
-
The Annex: Located directly across the street, this space houses our specialized Clay, and Culinary studios.
Location
Located in the heart of downtown Medford at 413 W. Main St., Medford, OR 97501. The museum is a central anchor for the downtown community and a key destination for families across Southern Oregon.
The Ivy School
The museum is home to The Ivy School, an award-winning, play-based preschool. With a focus on Reggio-inspired philosophies, the school provides a unique environment where the museum itself serves as a classroom, fostering curiosity and social-emotional growth.
