African American musical influences have formed the very core of modern American music. Song choices on this playlist showcase both modern Black musicians and many of those trailblazing Black artists who shaped our musical landscape. Songs can be enjoyed by both adults and children of all ages!

Past Celebrations
Asian American
& Pacific Islander Heritage Month
Throughout the month of May, we hosted special programs and themed provocations in celebration of Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) culture. Families enjoyed exploring these activities across the Museum while listening to vibrant music from AAPI communities!
This mindfully curated collection tracks a geographic journey starting in India, traveling north through Nepal and the Himalayas to China and South Korea, and moving southeast through Taiwan and Indonesia before finishing in Hawaii and the Polynesian Islands.
