Located directly across from the Children's Museum of Southern Oregon, The Annex is your dedicated space for clay exploration and culinary creativity. No museum admission is required to visit the Clay Studio—it is open to the entire community.

We offer a range of activities from self-guided exploration to structured, technical instruction. Whether you want to drop in for a quick project or commit to a multi-week ceramic process, we provide the professional tools and kiln-firing services to support your work.

Weekly Themed Workshops

Free Clay and Play

When to go: During Open Studio hours (Tues, Thurs, Fri: 10 am–12 pm & 1 pm–5 pm | Sat: 10 am–5 pm).

Best for: Spontaneous, no-cost exploration for all ages. Use our tools and clay to build anything you can imagine.

Cost: FREE (Pieces are recycled afterward).

No sign-up needed!

Clay Masterpieces & Bisqueware Painting

When to go: During Open Studio hours (Tues, Thurs, Fri: 10 am–12 pm & 1 pm–5 pm | Sat: 10 am–5 pm).

Best for: Artists who want to fire and keep their creations. Purchase clay or bisqueware to create a permanent masterpiece.

Cost: $12 Members / $15 Guests (Includes 1/2 lb clay, firing, & glaze).

No sign-up needed!

Wheel Mini-Sessions

When to go: Only on Wednesdays at specific session times (12:00 pm, 12:45 pm, 2:45 pm, 3:30 pm).

Best for: Beginners wanting to try the pottery wheel. Join an instructor-led, 30-minute introduction to the wheel.

Cost: $15 Members / $20 Non-Members.

Weekly Themed Workshops

When to go: During Workshop times (Tues, Thurs, Fri: 12 pm–1 pm & 3 pm–4 pm) or After Hours Workshops (Wednesdays: 5 pm–6 pm).

Best for: Guided learning and creating professional-quality ceramic pieces.

The Process: Requires three visits—one to Make, one to Paint (after firing), and one to Pick up your finished piece.

Cost: Varies by workshop (includes all materials and firing).

No sign-up needed, but please arrive on time!
